Welcome to Kankari Lodge, situated on the outskirts of Karatu town in the picturesque Ngorongoro Highlands. Nestled directly on the safari path, this small lodge is conveniently located between Lake Manyara National Park and the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Karatu is a typical Tanzanian small town with plenty to explore. Spend a day immersing yourself in the local markets and witnessing brickmaking kilns in action, or embark on a hike in the nearby Ngorongoro Forest. Additionally, coffee farms in the area offer insightful tours on the cultivation and processing of the world’s beloved morning beverage.

Kankari Lodge offers an intimate, cozy retreat for guests. Choose from a selection of eight standard rooms in four double cottages, or opt for the four luxury tents available. Each room and tent comes with an ensuite bathroom, providing you with the privacy and convenience you require. The rooms and tents feature either two twin beds, a queen bed or triple beds, a private verandah, a writing desk, and a dressing area. All our accommodations boast fireplaces for additional warmth and comfort, while the spacious tents also include a sitting area with a settee and a coffee table.

Dining at Kankari Lodge is a treat in itself. A cozy bar and dining room, situated in the main lodge building overlooking the pool, provide a comfortable and inviting setting to enjoy your meals. Take advantage of the large outdoor deck, complete with two fireplaces, offering both a relaxing seating area and an opportunity for al fresco dining. The meal plans encompass breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with all food prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the surrounding farms.
