Detailed Itinerary
Day 1; Dar Es Salaam-Nyerere(Selous)
Early Morning Transfer by Road, Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park. This evening in Nyerere National Park, you’ll join us on a boat safari on the Rufiji River. Highlights might include hippos, crocs, and more.
Here in Nyerere National Park, you might just fall in love with going on a safari. Nyerere is, after all, home to one of the biggest lion populations in Africa. Lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, buffalo, wildebeest – you’re almost guaranteed to see plenty of these. It’s also a good place to see African wild dogs and leopards, but these are definitely harder to find. Wherever you look, the backdrop to all these animals is always beautiful. The rocky hills rise over parts of the reserve, the Rufiji River is hippo-filled, and the lakes are fringed with palm trees. Overnight at Mloka Lodge.
Day 2; Nyerere(Selous) Full Day
Go looking for elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and even African wild dogs in a classic southern Tanzanian landscape on a guided game drive through Nyerere. Overnight at Mloka Lodge.
Day 3; Nyerere-Mikumi Transfeer
Early this morning you’ll venture out on a guided walk through Nyerere National Park. It’s a chance to learn so many secrets of the wild from your expert guide. After walking Safari Transfer by Road, from Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park. Overnight at Camp Bastian Mikumi.
Day 4; Mikumi Full Day
Your guide will show you the amazing wildlife and landscapes of Mikumi as we take you on a guided game drive through the park. You’ll explore Mikumi National Park, nestled away in Tanzania’s Southern Highlands and one of the least-known parks in the country. It’s actually Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park, and there’s a good chance that you’ll see giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and crocodiles amid all the baobabs, light woodland, and savannah-like plains.
Remember, too, that Mikumi is one of the best places in this region of Africa to see wild dogs. And because far fewer safaris make it out here than they do to other, better-known parks, you’ll enjoy the whole experience in relative peace. Overnight at Camp Bastian.
Day 5; The end of your safari with us
The morning after breakfast Transfer by Road, to Dar es Salaam. This is when your safari will finally come to an end. We hope that you’ll return home with so many memories of everything that you’ve seen and enjoyed. We look forward to the day when you come with us again on safari.
