DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1; Dar es Salaam-Iringa.

Early Mornig transfer from Dar es Salaam to Iringa. It’s time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we’ll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari.

Spend some time getting to know Iringa, with its rock art, first-rate museum, and archaeological sites. If that’s not enough, there are also terrific restaurants, markets, and monuments for you to explore while you’re here. Even better, it’s likely there will be very few other travelers to get in your way.

Overnight at Iringa Sunset Hotel. The views out over Iringa from the public terrace are especially good at sunset, and the attractive grounds make clever use of natural rock formations and plenty of trees. Good rooms come in a range of styles, but all are spacious and have mosquito nets. Facilities include a bar and a restaurant.

Day 2-5; Ruaha National park

Here at Ruaha, you’ll probably see three of the Big Five – big lion pride and even bigger herds of elephant and buffalo. Leopards are also a possibility. Giraffes, hippos, and zebra are commonly found here, and more than 450 different bird species have been seen. Very few visitors make it here compared to other Tanzanian parks, so you’ll likely enjoy a strong wilderness feeling as a result. Just after sunrise and in the hour before sunset, the grasslands of Ruaha turn to gold and all the animals come out into the open. These are the time’s visitors most enjoy being here.

Overnight at Ruaha tourist Bandas. Close to the park headquarters, Ruaha Bandas offers very simple accommodations that are in a good location to enjoy everything that this remarkable park has to offer. Some of the bandas have private bathrooms, and all have cooking facilities. You’re also very close to the river, which means there’s always plenty of wildlife nearby.

Day 6-7; Mikumi National park

On 6 Day early morning transfer to Mikumi(4-5hrs). Full game drive in 7 Days, Spending time in Mikumi National Park could just be one of your best safari surprises. It has all the wildlife you could wish for, including four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. But your biggest prize of all may be finding a pack of endangered African wild dogs, which is always an exhilarating sight. You’ll love the landscapes, too – so many classic safari images including grassy plains, light woodlands, and plenty of baobabs, that strangely wonderful tree of the African plains. Put it all together and you’ll soon understand why they sometimes call Mikumi ‘Little Serengeti’.
Overnight at Camp Bastian. Exploring Mikumi National Park is easy when you stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi, a short distance from the park entrance. The camp has a range of accommodations that draws visitors from across the globe. There’s also a bar, a restaurant, and a swimming pool which are all perfect for relaxing after a long day on safari.

Ove You get the best of both worlds when you stay at Mloka Safari Lodge: you’re close to the main entrance to Selous Game Reserve, but also in the interesting provincial town of Mloka. Acacia and marula trees surround the bungalows with thatched roofs, and the bar and restaurant are good places to relax.
