Visit Nyerere National park (Selous ) the lifeblood of this wilderness is the mighty Rufiji river and network of interconnected lakes. Game drives are most rewarding for predator sightings, but boat and walking safaris add a different dimension to your stay.

Ruaha, offers excellent wildlife viewing. It is particularly good for spotting very large prides of lion and the endangered wild dog. Elephants and a variety of antelope species are another big draw to the park. It also has outstanding wilderness appeal, with limited exclusive, luxury camps available.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1-4: Nyerere National park

Your thrilling safari adventure begins when you arrive in Tanzania at Dar Es Salaam Airport. Meet your representative, transfer to Nyerere National park. Rufiji River Camp will be your home for the next three nights. Ideally located in the spectacular Selous Game Reserve, this is the perfect base from which to explore Tanzania’s least known, yet wildest game reserve.

Spend the coming days going on game drives to see the great elephant herds and visiting the Rufiji River, the largest river in East Africa and home to the largest crocodile and hippo populations on the continent. After enjoying thrilling river safaris and bush walks, return to the camp to relax.

Day 1-4: Nyerere National park-Iringa Town

After breakfast at the lodge/hotel, experience a morning walking safari. After a walking safari start a long drive to Iringa Town.

Days 5-7: Explore the Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National park,Tanzania

After breakfast, Drive to Ruaha National Park. Spend your time going on game drives, exploring the river and identifying the many different bird species. Experience a delicious bush dinner or picnic lunch while observing the magnificent hippos frolicking in the river.

Set on one of the most stunning stretches of the Great Ruaha River, you can see game throughout the day from the comfort of your veranda; there can surely be few other camps as perfectly situated. Ruaha is split across two locations, with one dining banda along the river, and the other perched high on a nearby kopje, offering a completely different perspective

Day 7: Say goodbye to the Ruaha

Dar es salaam ,Tanzania

After a delicious breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam where your safari adventure will come to an end. Chat with one of our experts to add a couple of nights in Zanzibar for a convenient and superb tropical island finale. Or chat to change itinerary and accommodation.
